Frequently asked Questions!

Where is the Park on the Plains going to be located?

The playland will be located in Patton Park which is the park on Main Street across from Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut.

What are you going to do with the existing park equipment at Patton Park?

The playground equipment will be moved to either Maddux or Palmer Park and will be determined by the city.

When will the park be built?

Starting the Week of August 26, 2009

What if we don’t make our goal?  Will there still be a playground?

The answer is “Of Course!”  Our goal is to make a multi-generational handicapped accessible playground.   Once we get our build date on the calendar, we will have a Playground Project Critical Timeline set up by Leathers and Associates that we will follow to let us know if we are where we need to be at each phase throughout the whole process.  If we do not have all the funds necessary, the playland will still be built but altered, with City approval, as we get closer to build date.

Are my donations tax-deductible?

All donations, payable through the Scott Community Foundation, are tax-deductible.  Every penny counts!  All donations and grants will help us to achieve our goals.

Isn’t your budget for the project set too high?

We believe that we can achieve this goal through a variety of fundraising efforts including: fundraising events, GRANTS, component sales, picket sales, and donations.

How can I help?

You can help by joining a committee, filling out a volunteer form, attending our fundraising events, donating your valued time and/or money, sponsoring the playland or a piece of equipment, and/or buying a picket!

Together, we CAN build it!!
